Remember Our Veterans

A SOLDIER IN JUST BEING THERE IN TIMES OF WAR, FIGHTING AND  SERVING,  IS GOOD ENOUGH.  What happens after the tour of duty is over?  Most of the time, a soldier whether he or she likes it or not develops the symptoms of  POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER  (PTSD).  Things happen to them, either right after coming home or five, ten, twenty years later and beyond.

Recognizing and learning signs of POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD):

  • Regular flashbacks, or reliving the traumatic event.
  • Avoidance of activities that were once enjoyed.
  • Regular feelings of overwhelming guilt or shame.
  • Hearing or seeing things that aren't there.
  • Difficulty remembering things or concentrating.
  • Having difficulty remembering important parts of the traumatic event.
  • Self-destructive behavior.
  • Having recurrent nightmares.
  • Having difficult time falling and staying asleep.
  • Regular feelings of being alienated and alone.
  • Having difficulty maintaining close relationships.
  • Avoidance of thinking or talking about the traumatic event.

Well, after much looking around, I finally decided to say goodbye to one of my cars and donate Mr. Mercury Ford to HelpOurVeterans.  It has low mileage, 80,000 miles plus, running and driving, and good interior and fair exterior as you can see.
Hopefully, it will help well and good our brave veterans, beside praying for their safety and wellbeing.  I include them all the time in my prayers -- to bless them and save them in all their fights. I so admire their sacrifices including their families. Really and truly, FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!
