In the know Car Insurance

This is a
consumer alert.  I'm telling
and writing this message as a warning of what I just found out and what I know
that you don't know yet or may have already know.

I'm always checking
around for cheaper rates on anything, anything.  Cheapo, that's me.
So...about 2 weeks ago, I finally called GEICO 1-877-252-4635 for a 'quick
quote' on my car insurance.  I keep seeing their TV ads and getting their
mails.  I gave them my personal data and information which may be of
importance at the time in securing a car insurance.  I did not agree with
the rates quoted and that was the end of it, and hung up.

Then, yesterday, I got a billing
statement from one of the credit card companies with a reverse charge of
$22.22 for a CONSUMER CREDIT CARD REPORT.  Let me tell you right off - this
is a dirty, low down trick by GEICO tantamount to fraud.  I never, ever
authorized GEICO to use and charge my credit card to check on my own credit
report.  GEICO was the one investigating me and the company should be
the one paying for the applicant's (me) credit history report.  What was
another illegal thing in my opinion is they did pick in random, one of my credit
card accounts to charge me which they got from CHOICEPOINT (a company that
keeps consumer credit history files) 1-800-259-6380.
What is scary is all your credit card account numbers (VISA, MC, AMEX
etc.) are listed in your file and any one can just use and put a charge on it
without your knowledge.

As I have said, the charge of $22.22 was
reversed and I did not have to pay the credit card company.  But it does
not make bad deeds right!  My point is... this is a dirty trick and scam by
GEICO and it is WRONG!  I called the said credit card company (I'll mention
the name in my personal message to you) to investigate and I was told I will get
the result of th
eir investigation in 4-6 weeks.

I will also forward this complaint to the
State Attorney General Office of Consumer Fraud Division.

My dear relatives and friends all over the
United States - let this be a lesson learned by me to you.  No more!
No more succumbing to misleading ads and tricksters.

Beware!  People are always out to get
you.  If this particular company is doing it, others are also doing the
same thing.

You just can't trust a gekko.

A Great Humanitarian

I wrote an interesting piece called 'A Touch of Malaria' in the HEALTH & LAB TECHNOLOGY SERIES.  It was also a part of the USTPMTBBAA Medical Technology topics and was presented at the 3rd UST Grand Reunion in Las Vegas.  The scourge of Malaria partly contributed to the fall of Greece and the great Roman Empire.  This disease is the #3 killer and it's one of the main causes of poverty, suffering and death in Africa.

The great humanitarian Bill Gates and his lovely wife, Melinda, through the generous gift of the Gates Foundation will hopefully, finally eradicate Malaria. They truly have a big heart.  It will be a gift that will keep on giving for a long, long time.

They are beautiful people.

Thank you, too!
