              Our Favorite Singer - CLIFF RICHARD

CLIFF RICHARD was born on October 14, 1940 in Lucknow, India.  His English father was stationed in India as a civil servant at the time.  His real name is Harry Rodger Webb.  He had his first hit "Move It" at the age of 18.  He became more popular in the 60s with his movie hits "The Young Ones", "Summer Holiday", and "It's a Wonderful Life."  Since then he had many adoring fans from all over Europe, Asia (South Korean and Malaysian fans are still so crazy about him), Australia and The Philippines.  http://youtu.be/-C9R-5YqRvQ  The Young Ones

This avid fan as a young teen in the Philippines had complete LP (Long-Playing) album collection bought from Cliff's record Epic  label in the US and then few years later brought them back to the states as an exchange student.  The custom inspector at the Anchorage airport was a bit amazed of the collection.  Of all the things to bring to the US...!!!  Now I get all my Cliff stuff from Amazon.  Once a favorite, always a favorite.

True to his song "Bachelor Boy" he never married.  He dedicated his life to the care of his mom, sisters and his music.  He did many philanthropic works and was involved in spreading the "Good News."  He had been voted "Best Performer" , "Best-Dressed Singer" by Savile Row (a fashion district in London) and everything that's best.  By Order of the British Empire (OBE) he was the first singer to be knighted by Queen Elizabeth, giving him the title of Sir Cliff Richard.  He's always present at the Queen's jubilees and birthdays.

At the age of 72, Sir Cliff never stopped touring.  On February 28, 2013, he was Reelin' and Rockin' at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila and singing his hit single "We Don't Talk Anymore" -  http://youtu.be/ENJ6gcfKucs    He's really and truly a singer for all seasons.  Still looking great at his age, he's a British national treasure.  He's a living legend.
