Class Always Shows

FROM THE DESK OF FOREIGN BORN OBSERVER

It's just a shame that George W. is the most maligned U.S. President of our time, especially during his presidency.  His vicious attackers in the mainstream media, including the chosen one at the White House, blame him for everything else when during the administration of Bush the deficit was $7 trillions (Obama: $14 trillions), job unemployment was 4.9 % (Obama: 9.1%) and the price of gas was $2.84 (Obama: $3.86) at the most.  Furthermore, George W, was and is the victim of bad press and the liberal internet blogs.  Too bad, George W. has too much class  to call their lies.

"A  lie, no matter how outrageous, repeated often enough tends to be accepted as true."

- Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Propaganda Minister

They say because of Bush the whole Muslim world hated the United States of A.  Then, I'm asking these people, why we were attacked on September 11, 2001 at the beginning  of the Bush Administration if America was so loved before that?  Well, hey, Bush was defending America.  Obama, the Prince of Nobel Peace Prize, with all his Muslim pilgrimages in the Arabian kingdom, apologizing for no reason when we were the one attacked, has been in office for more than two and half years and so far, America is much, much worse than before!.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2011

NEW YORK.  PENNSYLVANIA.  WASHINGTON D.C.

NEVER FORGET!

What? No news crews and cameras? This is how people with class respond and pay respect to those in uniform.
I sent my cousin in Fayetteville , N.C. (Retired from Special Forces) that picture of Geo. W. visiting the wounded at Ft. Hood . I got this reply:

What is even better is the fact George W. Bush heard about Fort Hood, got in his car without any escort, apparently they did not have time to react, and drove to Fort Hood. He was stopped at the gate and the guard could not believe who he had just stopped. Bush only asks for directions to the hospital then drove on. The gate guard called that "The President is on Fort Hood and driving to the hospital."

The base went bananas looking for Obama. When they found it was Bush, they immediately offered escort. Bush simply told them it was o.k. and to let him visit the wounded and the dependents of the dead.

He stayed at Fort Hood for over six hours, and was finally asked to leave by a message from the White House.

Obama flew in days later and held a "photo" session in a gym, and did not even go to the hospital.

All this I picked up from two soldiers here who happened to be at Fort Hood when it happened.
This Bush/Obama/Ft.Hood story is something that should be sent to every voter in the US . Those who wanted "change" certainly got it.

Someone, PLEASE, show me anything that will tell us that Obama has ANY respect for the country he leads! I'm looking for just a little sign of respect!

Ya know what ...this is VERY TRUE!!! NOT RIGHT....we need Different
people in Office to get RID of the idea people can come here and live
better than WE DO!!! Heck WE ARE PAYING for it! It needs to STOP!

Is this a problem? You decide. JOE vs. JOSE

You have two families: "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal".

Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California
 .

Joe Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and
makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security
Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

 Ready? Now pay attention...

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or
$52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe
 Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or
 $31,200.0
0 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has
 $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for
his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now
 has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state
and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has
 $31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or
welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per
year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps
and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year.
Joe Legal now has $9,631 .00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose
Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose
 Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe
 Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still
 has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities,
 gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities,
gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job
 after work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school.
Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's
children get a government sponsored lunch. Jose Illegal's children
have an after school ESL program. Joe Legal's children go home.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire
services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.

 Do you get it, now?

We need to keep this going--we need to make changes ASAP!

It's way PAST time to take a stand for America and Americans!

If you don't think that this is a problem, or if you vote for or
support any politician that supports illegal aliens,

THEN YOU ARE THE PROBLEM ! ! !

Dead Sea Study for Diabetics

Previously Published on October 6, 2011
*******************************

According to a study done by researchers and scientists from Ben Gurion University and Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva, Israel, floating in the Dead Sea for just 20 minutes may help diabetics lower blood sugar levels.
In the experiment, 14 people with Type 2 diabetes, aged 18 to 65, showed a significant drop in blood glucose levels after sitting for 20 minutes in a pool of Dead Sea water.  Glucose levels dropped an average from 163 to 151 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dl) - 13.5 % - immediately afterwards.  Blood sugar dropped even low to 141.3 mg/dl after an hour' dip in the water.  (Oh,my, I've been to Dead Sea and an hour dip would turn your skin to prunes).  The bathing experience did not appear to have a negative effect on other blood test values such as insulin levels, cortisone hormones or c-peptide.  A control group of six healthy individuals did not register any changes in the blood sugar levels.
Professor Shaul Sukenik, lead researcher at Ben Gurion University, described the result as promising and further confirmation of the studies of a drop in blood glucose level of diabetics who bathe in the Dead Sea will allow use of less medication.  The research team is broadening their studies to examine the effect of a daily dip (how long? 20 minutes?) in the Dead Sea across a three-week period.  The research findings were published in the journal of Israel Medical Association, HaRefua, August edition.

I say, well written.

..... Through The Eyes Of A Filipino .....
Hazelyne M. Elgar
Listen to me!
You might think we are a poor nation,
but when I look around me I do not see just poverty.
Instead, I see farmers, back bent from sun up till sun down nurturing the land.
I hear fisherfolks heaving, as they gamble with their lives
amidst angry winds and rough water just to nourish their families.
I feel the weary legs of children from far-flung barrios,
as they cross rivers and mountains and walk for miles,
just to get to school because they still dream.
I see determination in the eyes of street children
playing tag with cars flying past on a ruthless highway
in order to augment their parent's meager earnings.
In the face of destitution, the Filipinos are steadfast.
That is courage.
You rebuke us for the graft and corruption plaguing our government,
but when my eyes skim the front pages of broadsheets, I do not see hopelessness.
Instead, I am inspired by stories about pushcart classes
and strangers swimming in deep murky flood waters to save nameless individuals.
I immerse myself in news
about how my countrymen unceasingly believe in the spirit of unity.
I revel because millions of Filipinos still voted for change.
At times when we are at the receiving end of the world's censure,
I choose to see the noble intentions of fallible men to help.
In tumultuous situations, when the urge to hold others culpable is difficult to resist,
I hear a leader embracing the liability just like a leader should.
In the face of adversity, the Filipinos are united.
That is courage.
You chastise millions of my countrymen
for leaving our motherland to seek greener pastures.
Answer me this:
have you ever listened to how they whimper at night because they long for home?
When Filipinas, forced to work away from their dear ones,
shed silent tears as they lull to sleep infants not their own
I begin to understand what unconditional love is.
You lure away our engineers, artists and teachers with a promise of a good life.
The loving hands of our nurses tend the health of your people.
Do not dare ask why we need to fill the void in your labor force!
The Overseas Filipino worker
is intelligent, ingenious, hard working and resilient.
I see that, and in my eyes they are heroes.
In the face of obligation, the Filipinos are self-sacrificing.
That is courage.
You are at liberty to express your opinion about my country,
but you can never take away my pride,
for I belong to a people united in faith and love.
I am Filipino, and no matter where I go I will always be one.
I do not doubt that the time for change will one day come for the Philippines .
Our flag, cast in the sun's glorious light, will be waving high.
My countrymen's sacrifices will not be in vain.
We will face the future with courage.
As one, we will reach out to the world and the world will embrace us.
Believe me, because I will take the lead.

English Language Enigmas

Sometimes, I wonder.  Take for instance, yesterday, when I was watching France 24 TV news.  They have this female French correspondent, reporting in English about the capture of Gaddafi or Qaddafi or Khadafi.  I could not understand a damn word she was saying.  Couldn't they get someone who speaks unbroken English?  Who are the best news reporters/correspondents?  RT & Al Jazeera, if you ask me.  I did not include my favorite BBC since English English is their mother tongue.  That's the problem with the snotty French people - they speak French only.  One time I was ordering food in a French bistro - the menu is very misleading and the waiter snotty and tempermental.  Hey, I would like to know what I'm ordering.  I don't like escargot and frogs.  No snails and frogs for me.  I am, after all, a carnivorous.

How true !!!!!!!!!

Let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant, nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France . Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig..

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an alarm goes off by going on.

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all. That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible.

PS. - Why doesn't 'Buick' rhyme with 'quick' ?

I am A Filipino-American
Dan Jiminez PMA'77

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I have crossed the oceans in search of a dream, a quest dictated by fate and
choice. I left the comfort of a safety net abandoning what I have known and
with whom I have known them with. I ventured into the promise caring not for
its fulfillment, only for the chance to make such come true. Full of hope
and the willingness to work as hard as possible, I bet all of tomorrows and
all of the pasts for the present. With heavy heart and unexplained
misgivings, I ran away from where I was born to where I was born for.

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I have two mothers, one by destiny, the other by choice. The guilt will
never end in endless justifications or denials. Honest acceptance of what
was done and its ramifications may pacify the heart. Still, the gnawing act
of betrayal and the irrevocable goodbye will define my being until the very
end. I have two mothers. With echoing doubts even with all the kindness the
heart can muster, I must trust myself.

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I took advantage of the opportunities I was offered and shared my blessings
to those I left behind. I worked insatiably for what I desired, for what I
lacked, for what I was denied. There was no shame in honest labor, no shame
in productivity. Green is green regardless of circumstance. Shame spelled
dole-outs and alms. In this land built by immigrants and dreams, one's limit
is one's self. I took what I could and paid the price. Tax and gratuity,
included.

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
Nationalists will question the core of my citizenship and ridicule the
seeming ambivalence of my allegiance. There will be no satisfaction in
knowing what is wrong nor in suggestions of what must be done. Expats'
opinions are doomed to the dump regardless of intent. The right to comment,
to argue, to present ideas have been stamped out apparently when my passport
changed colors. I will not contest this judgment nor insist that my voice be
heard. Ideas though must reign supreme no matter whose eyes get blinded by
such. I will continue to pour my beliefs out and pray that they will stand
on their own in spite of their origin. My sins are only my own. And so are
the deserved consequences.

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I am proud of the years I struggled, of the odd jobs I took that were
supposed to be unbecoming of my degree and pride, of the once hand to mouth
existence and the necessity of an eighty hour week. I decry the ridicule of
those whose hands were too immaculate to lend support and encouragement.
Yes, those whose skin are as brown as mine. I sleep soundly at night tired
to the bones yet with the peace that under my roof are blessings because I
toiled.

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I will not forget my youth, the native in my tongue, the land I was molded
from. In my search for a definite identity, the hyphen will remain but not
determine who I am. I will subscribe to God Bless America as fervently as I
adhere to Pilipinas Kong Mahal. I will seek my values, my truths in
freedom's light be they of the stars or of the sun confident that there are
no colors to consider, just the clarity of one's pursuit of prosperity and
happiness, of liberty and of justice for all.

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I will not apologize for the way of life brought about by diligence,
determination and most of all, God's blessing. I will unceasingly support
the ideals America was built on, the ideals which made my aspirations within
reach. In spite of the perceived monstrosity of this country, there exists
among the people a desire to be better, to be more relevant, to care more,
to be more compassionate. I will treat her enemies as mine and her friends
truly my own. For in the end, her survival and prosperity will be mine. And
yes, pretentious and assuming it maybe, I am America's son. This is my land,
"from sea to shining sea."

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I will always be torn by who I was and who I am. Bridging the divide entails
the suppressing of the heart but not the remembrances of the past. I will
always be indebted to the before and after wishing only to be worthy of
both. And as I lose myself to my descendants, the blood of my forefathers
will continue to flow and fluorish in spite of whatever color change their
skins will have. For it is true and will always be true: what will matter is
within.

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I desire the respect of Filipinos, I aim for the acceptance of Americans. I
ask for no guarantee nor mercies allotted only for the inutile and the
dying. I will continuously strive to prove myself that those who share my
blood, my history, my name will have a ground to stand on long after my
remains have turned to dust. I am an immigrant who rode the winds of change
with tested resolve and unbroken spirit. In this mortal life, I can only
fall back on what I have done never on what I have wanted to do. With all
humility, I will enjoy the blessings of success, of friendships and of
stranger's kindness and vow to reciprocate in kind. I kneel in endless
gratitude listening to time's wisdom and His words that I may finish this
journey according to His will.

I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I have accepted the reality of my splintered citizenship, . Beyond questions
and senseless insinuations, I will be honest to myself. Through the noise of
confusion and the cacophony of demagogues, I will seek peace within. I will
cradle the setting sun in winter's cold knowing with hope soaring, it is
dawn where I was born. I will forgive myself for failed idealism realizing
that pain never goes away completely and that happiness will always be
tempered by thoughts of a home faraway. In all my endeavors, my thoughts and
my aspirations, I will remain my father and mother's son. And though I will
never go back, home, country, the Philippines will always be in my mind and
heart. Unrequited love and all its sadness notwithstanding.

Yes, I AM A FILIPINO-AMERICAN.
I bare my soul in the cold fog of a rainy day wishing for warmth and the sun
and the chance to heard. Insignificance is death without mercy long before
the heart stops beating. Yet, the choice to listen is not mine. Still I
write with the purpose my children and my only one have bequeathed to me.
The same purpose why I crossed the oceans to start again. It is for them I
live. It is for them I write. May this be worthy.

Peter Wallace is better known hereabouts for his humorous essays on the Philippines, Filipinos and Filipino food.

Professionally, Peter is a foreign investment consultant.  He turns his attention on what economists call our 'comparative advantage'.

A great people
The Philippine Advantage

by Peter Wallace

I have often wondered why the Philippines is so poorly regarded internationally (the lowest levels of foreign investment and smallest number of tourists confirm this).

There's so much that is attractive about the Philippines-but it's not known. The image of the Philippines is of bungling cops unable to break down a bus door so eight tourists die. The image of New Zealand is of a country that rescues, nurtures and sends a penguin back home to Antarctica. A country that cares is not careless.

You have an image of a country from minor events, not from in-depth knowledge. Well, the Philippines is not a land of bungling cops (Incidentally, I'd almost guarantee that the promised properly, professionally equipped, intensively trained rescue team has not been created. If it is, I'd like to see a demonstration), but of talented people who perform as well as, or better, in many cases, than anyone else.

The situation is so bad that at many events the Philippines is not compared poorly to elsewhere, it isn't compared at all. It's not on the list. I really have no simple answer to why this is so, despite I've thought and thought about it over the years. Here is a country with a warmth, hospitality and friendship you won't find anywhere else.

Multinational corporations tell me that their operations here are ranked up at the top on performance, efficiency, profitability amongst their subsidiaries around the world. That's reality. I can tell you loyalty of staff is incredible. My team thinks nothing of working way beyond eight hours if the client or project needs it. Of working years for us in a belief in what we do. That's a loyalty replicated in numerous companies Texas Instruments doubled its investment here because after a typhoon that devastated Baguio and many of TI's employees' houses, the employees were all back at work the next day.

I wrote a booklet some years ago to help foreigners new to, or thinking about investing and living, here understand what they're getting into. I listed the country's best features based on various surveys, as: 1) English language proficiency; 2) Labor availability, quality and reliability; 3) Adaptability to Western culture and practices; 4) Market potential and size; 5) Educational attainment; 6) Low cost environment; 7) Positive Filipino attitude; 8) Quality and quantity of middle management and technical people; 9) Comfortable local lifestyle; 10) Strategic location; and 11) Good telecoms infrastructure.

Note how much of it is people: it's the Filipino. Close to 9 million of them around the world tell you that, too. The global shipping industry experienced a great slump during the recent world economic meltdown, yet Filipino seamen didn't lose their jobs. Other nationalities did

But note too how two of the most important features (English capability and education) are being thrown away. My wife was taught in English, her home spoke English, English was the language of choice. Tagalog was placed alongside it. Today, misplaced nationalism seems to think Tagalog must be spoken as it's the language of home so it's easier for kids to learn in it. Yes, the language of home is the easiest language to use to impart knowledge, but 40 years ago, that language was English.

The other argument is that Tagalog identifies the nation. Well I speak English, not Aboriginal; Americans speak English, not some red Indian language. Language doesn't define a nation, language is for one purpose, and one purpose only: Communication.

The world speaks English. More than 300,000 Filipinos have jobs in call centers because they speak English. Another 200,000 are employed in other business process outsourcing sub-sectors like transcription & digital content/game development where English is also the primary language used. Most of the nearly 9 million Filipinos around the world have jobs because they speak English. None is there because he or she speaks a Filipino dialect The interconnectivity of the world, the explosion (the only word) of globalization makes English essential if we are to be a leader in the IT industry where we've done so well already. So it must be taught equally with Tagalog, not as a second language.

It also means education is ever more essential, yet we've just lost all our universities out of the world's Top 300. Some 35 percent of kids never finish primary school, another 27 percent drop out from secondary. Of 100 primary school entrants, only 14 earn a college degree. The deterioration of the educational system is heart breaking and is becoming a major deterrent to new investment. There are still enough Filipinos to meet industry needs, but it won't continue. The BPO industry, where the Philippines is a world leader, can find enough people now, but soon it won't be able to. Not having enough money to fund education is not an excuse. There is enough money-if corruption is stopped as the President wants; if schools are built, not monumental government offices (go see the opulent monstrosity in Calamba to satisfy someone's ego); if tax effort (taxes as a share of GDP) is brought up to the 17-18 percent as elsewhere in Asia; if tax changes are pushed through (sin tax amendments and fiscal incentive reforms could add about P95 billion that could be put into education and health). The money is there. Lack of money is not an excuse.

The other human factors that make the Philippines so attractive remain strong, so how do we get the world to know about them? Spend money, that's how. Market the Philippines aggressively. Create the image (based on what is the reality). It's a job that Tourism Secretary Mon Jimenez and Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo must be tasked to do. And that, Congress should agree, should be liberally funded-the returns will be multiples of what is spent.

We can't sit around and wait for the world to discover the real Philippines, we have to tell the world. But forget the stereotyped, unimaginative ways: Rescue a penguin. Get the world to stand up and take notice.

When you market something, you sell its best feature, you identify the product with a unique feature. Well the unique feature of the Philippines is the Filipino. I'd sell the Filipino, concentrate on getting the message across that the reason to invest or visit is because the people are great.

No one wants to see a church, they want to see a temple. Beautiful beaches abound around the world, but people that make for a wonderful experience don't. Workers that go beyond what is expected elsewhere in the world are as scarce as hen's teeth (I presume hens have no teeth, I've never looked).

What must go hand-in-hand with this, though, is a change in the leadership of the country. Over the past 40 years, China has leaped past the Philippine, as I explained last week, for only one reason: better, more focused, more idealistic, nationalistic leadership. Nothing else was different, it can be the only logical conclusion. Three of the country's past four leaders have been accused of corruption, of putting themselves before the nation. And many of the people below them have replicated that attitude. So the Philippines sank off the map.

Can it be made to surface again? Can we get a truly patriotic leadership? This is the challenge for President Noynoy Aquino. It's a challenge he seems to have accepted, but can he bring the other leaders along with him?

That's his real challenge. Can he change the wang wang culture at all levels?

Can Filipinos truly care for their country, not themselves. After 333 years in a monastery and 45 years in Hollywood – close to 400 years of foreign domination – who wouldn't want to think only of themselves and protect their families? But 113 years of independence is surely enough for Filipinos to realize it's their country now and they must care for it, genuinely care for it – in action, not words.

Sell the Filipino to the world, it's the Philippine advantage.

Immigration Reform

ONE OF THE PROMISED FREE GIFTS OF PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA IS GRANTING AMNESTY TO ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS OR SOMETHING CLOSE TO IT.

As an immigrant from the Philippines, it was a long road for me taking a duration of some years to become an American citizen.  My Foreign Exchange Student visa was waived by US Immigration and Naturalization Service (as it was called then) and I have to live in the United States as a Permanent Resident for six years.  So I know what I'll be talking about.

When one applies for immigration visa with a US consulate there are many strict legal rules and regulations - too numerous and too complicated for me to mention here.  Illegal aliens who came from other far away countries, i.e. Philippines, Poland (I see them protesting on TV), but not the folks from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and South America (they just cross the border in Texas, Arizona and California by jumping the fence), come through the back door up north from Canada.
In 2006, when my favorite President-of- All-Time George W. Bush seemed to favor the immigration reform bill of McCain-Kennedy, I was all for it.  Really and truly, under the Bush Administration the economy was very progressive until 2006 when the Pelosi-Reid tandem took over Congress.  What an ugly couple?! After that, until today, nothing but doom and gloom.  And the resident evil in the White House rises again.  Thanks to the 51%.  No one in the liberal media and all pundits dare say ever that Obama was elected and re-elected because he's black for fear they would be called "racist."  Maybe, just maybe, in the long run the recent Republican presidential candidate could have won the Latino votes.  And never the black votes.  In the short run, it was a win for the Conservatives then because it kind of slowed down the illegal entry down south of the border and 7,000 miles of wall was erected.  Since then many were deported and re-deported for they kept coming back until recession set in.  Bye-bye Miss American Pie - no job for me here (job unemployment skyrocketed as high as 9.4% under Obama compared to Bush's 4.9%!)
There will be no immigration reform under Obama.  He's a do-nothing President for four years and I'll be surprised if things get done as a lame-duck President.

PepsiCo

I AM A FOREVER MEMBER OF THE MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY so this is not surprising to me.  Is it weird science? Yes! Is it just a test? Yes!  Is it good for business? Maybe no, maybe yes! Something to freak out one Pepsi-drinking buddy I know? Yes!

Okay, okay. I'm getting to the point!

In 2011, the Children of God Life (CGL) first broke the news that PepsiCo uses Human Embryonic Kidney [HEK-293] as flavor enhancer for the soda pop.  It was revealed that Pepsi had many other options at its disposal to produce flavor chemical which is what its competitors do, but had instead chosen to continue using aborted fetal cells.

HEK-293 is a line of stem cells developed from a murdered DUTCH BABY.  Senomyx, a San Diego, CA-based company, uses this line of cells derived from an aborted fetus in 70 of its 77 patents, so it's probably used to test a lot of food additives.  PepsiCo, who made an unholy alliance with Senomyx, defends its position that using HEK-293 is for "evaluation" purposes only and to determine how actual human taste receptors respond to this chemical flavorings and does not end up in the final product sold to customers.  Oh, yummy Pepsi! The giant company is not really putting murdered DUTCH BABY (from Holland, as if you don't know who's Dutch) into food or soft drink.  Okedoke!  Just remember, let me tell you as a Certified ASCP Chemist and Medical Technologist, that in that Pepsi fizzzzzzz, there are a lot of microscopic nano-particles made from chopped stem cells part from a murdered DUTCH BABY - making sure that your Pepsi (not mine - I prefer my favorite COKE - first in line with my grocery coupon of 3 cases (12 cans) for $11 )  and other Pepsi products (Kraft) are both tasty and delicious.  Let me quote, "Better living through grave robbing..."

On March 17, 2012, the Obama Administration has given its business "blessing" to PepsiCo to continue utilizing Senomyx, a company that produces flavor chemicals using aborted human fetal tissue.  Obama's Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) has decided that PepsiCo's alliance with Senomyx simply constitutes "ordinary business operations."

I prefer COKE for it teaches the world to sing in perfect harmony...

Petrafied

GENERAL DAVID PETRAEUS

PEOPLE WERE PETRAFIED! So I said to myself, self, that's what is the reason for the defeaning silence.  Petraeus, because of the on-going investigation by the FBI of his extramarital affair with his autobiographer Paula Broadwell, he was paralyzed and could not take immediate action on what happened in Benghazi, Libya where four Americans died, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.  Of course, following the chain of command, there's no doubt at all in my mind as a Foreign-Born Observer that he was following the order of his Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama.  According to radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh, http://www.rushlimbaugh.com (I've been listening to him since 1989) who's been right 99.99% of the time, the Benghazi Massacre evolved now into a sex scandal. Indeed, things and the juicy details have become complicated and we may never know what really happened.  I know deals will be made - for instance, you'll still be a four-star general if you cover up for the White House, the Secretary of State and the Department of Defense and the rest of the subordinates and become the sacrificial lamb.  There's blood in the hands of those involved because you know why?  An ambassador died, a very dignified and honorable profession, and three other Americans.  Never in the history of American diplomacy that I could recall that such murderous attack could ever happened, most especially on September 11.  This would never have occurred under President George W. Bush - who was vigilant after what happened to his watch on September 11, 2001.
Commander-in-Chief Bill Clinton, who had many purported extra-marital affairs and one that always come into mind - Monica Lewinsky - did not resign his position.  In fact, many women still adored and loved him.  Yeah, yeah! He was impeached (the devil is in the blue dress) and his law license suspended.
At the end of the day (or night), I think there's redemption and the Petraeus Family will be whole again.  They'll survive.  But this remains to be seen.

Post Election 2012

FROM THE DESK OF FOREIGN BORN POLITICAL OBSERVER

IT IS WHAT IT IS.  In this life there will always be winners and losers.  Unfortunately, there will always be class envy - if your opponent is good looking and wealthy there will be people who will be jealous of your success.  Single women voted for Obama because they related with him because of his single mother who died of cancer.  I was listening to talk radio hosts BRUCE & DAN (sounds like a singing duo) of http://www.wlsam.com who were pinch-hitting for the recuperating Don Wade & Roma Show.  They made a comment about the Catholic votes - that many voted for Obama.  As a Roman Catholic, I know very well my fellow Catholics like the back of my wrinkled hands.  I know this by having discussion and talking with them.  In religion and otherwise, money is always the bottomline.  Even though they are so-called Catholics, they are inconsistent when it comes to contraception, religious freedom, abortion, immigration and you name it.  Catholic-ism goes by the wayside.  Sure they seemed devoted (Hispanics, Mexican and Filipino voters) and go to church every Sunday but in reality they leave their beliefs inside the church.  Everyone wants handouts and freebies, including self, and most especially immigrants who came from socialist countries.  Sure, no doubt the changing demographics have contributed to the result of the presidential election.  Money, whether you're rich or poor, trumps up everything.  Anyway, it will always be a divided America - red, white and blue and stars over us.  May I say something to my beloved Republicans - always stand by your principles and good character.  Yes, it's forward to four more years of the same and status quo but an individual's self-reliance and conservatism will pull us through difficult times.  After all, and needless to say, America holds the promise of opportunity and liberty.

Tempus fugit!
