Political Religiosity

REPUBLICAN PARTY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE - MITT ROMNEY
Is it time to have a Mormon president?  It did not seem to be a hindrance to the current U.S. president who was a Muslim by blood and birth when he was a presidential candidate in 2008.
Obama's political hatchet man attacked the religiosity of Mitt Romney.  You know, Mormon equals polygamy or plural marriage.  That his great grandfather or grandfather practiced polygamy.  In fact, not my fact but history fact, very few Mormons practice polygamy and was not part of the original Mormon theory of marriage.  It was forbidden by the Manifesto of 1890.  When polygamy was abandoned by the Mormon church, Utah was then admitted in the Union in 1896.
Okedoke.  Tit for tat.  Which one is bad?  Obama's Kenyan father, grandfather and great grandfather who had many wives, for sure four, and a bigamist if he did marry Obama's mother in Hawaii or in Kenya, or, Mitt's father, grandfather and great grandfather? Gotcha!
Republican pundits say there are more important hot button issues - social and economic.  Everything is important in politics because many voters, young and old, are easily misled by hypes and lies from the bias mainstream media and celebrities.
Obama and his cohorts are always blaming people, particularly George W. and America for its economic woes.  I disagree wholeheartedly - during the Bush Administration the job unemployment was 4.9% only and the economy was good.  Now, three of my friends have no jobs.  Under Obama, unemployment went up to 9.4%, the reverse.  Hold it, hold it - in 2006, because of the Iraq & Afghanistan Wars, American voters voted for the Democrats, i.e. Nancy Pelosi (a Catholic in name only) and Harry Reid (a Mormon), in Congress.  That was the beginning of America going down the toilet.  Banking chairpersons - Democrats Christopher Dodd & Barney Frank directed banks to give mortgage to low income home buyers and no down payment needed.  Democrats were more to blame than Republicans if you ask me.
Right. Romney said, "This is not the time to attack people, this is the time to attack problems."  I must say Obama is not a pro-active president, kind of lazy and obviously not a leader.  What he's good at is the endless fundraisings since he took office with his good pal Warren Buffett and Bill Maher.  The projected funds in his coffer is about $ 2 billions.
If I'm correct, the American voters this time will be more well-informed, sensible and conscientious on who's the lesser of two evils.  Obama has a political and economic records which he did not have before.  A failing grade with a capital F.
Pretty soon, if not already, Romney will be looking for his veep.  All names being thrown are qualified and worthy of consideration.  The big electoral states of New York, Illinois, and California are already in the hands of Obama.  Romney's only hopes are Florida,Ohio and Indiana.  As a political observer, I pick and prefer Jeb Bush as Romney's veep (and then President in 2020).  Down at the end of the line -  John Kasick or Rob Portman of Ohio, only because they are always sending me thoughtful e-mails.  To get out of this economic malaise, America needs a leader by the name of Romney.

According to Angel Moroni, anything is possible in the Book of Mormon.  So it is written in the Golden Plates.  So it shall be done!

 Hi, Matt Clark here...

There is a lot of misinformation about vitamin D out there. After

discussing vitamin D and vitamin D deficiency with experts from

around the world in areas such as nutrition, bioidentical hormones,

medical weight loss, and medicine, I have gathered some profound

information that will help you make the right decision about

vitamin D.

Vitamin D deficiency may go undetected in the beginning. Even if

you are feeling perfectly fine, you might be low on vitamin D.

Eating a modern diet and living a modern lifestyle mean you are

likely low on the critical "sunshine vitamin".

You probably know that vitamin D is good for you and you should try

to get it through your diet. But, do you know WHY you need it? Do

you know how to know if you are low on vitamin D? Well, take a look

at this quick list of common symptoms of vitamin D deficiency and

think about whether or not any match what you are experiencing on a

daily or weekly basis:

* Trouble sleeping

* Mild depression

* Irritability

* Pain in muscles and bones

* Appetite loss

* Diarrhea

* Impaired vision

* Fatigue

If you think you might be experiencing any of those, then keep

reading to find out if low vitamin D might be the issue.

What Causes Vitamin D Deficiency?

According to new research, seventy-five percent of U.S. teens and

adults are deficient in vitamin D[1]. This is thought to be mainly

due to a diet lacking in vitamin D-rich foods and a lifestyle of

indoor work and play. But, that's not all. There are a whole host

of other reasons you might be deficient in vitamin D. Here is a

list of reasons why you might be deficient:

* Being overweight

* Eating a vegetarian diet

* Living in an area that doesn't get enough sun year around to

produce all the vitamin D you need

* Dark skin

* Consuming a lacking in foods such as animal meat, fish liver oils,

egg yolks, and fortified dairy and grain products

* Having kidneys that can't convert vitamin D into the active form

* Being older than 50

* Having a digestive disorder like Celiac Disease

* Any of the above can put you at risk for being vitamin D

deficient.

* Just being older than 50 can mean you might be vitamin D

deficient.

Older adults are at increased risk of developing vitamin D

insufficiency in part because, as they age, skin cannot synthesize

vitamin D as efficiently, they are likely to spend more time

indoors, and they may have inadequate intakes of the vitamin [2].

Why would it matter if you are vitamin D deficient? You are about

to find out...

So powerful, touching and true!!

We must stand up for our country and those things we have always held dear!!

Thanks Mary, I will pass this on with great pride!

God bless America!!

God bless your day.

JOHN MCCAIN'S REMARKS ABOUT THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE!

In light of the recent appeals court
ruling in California , with respect to the
Pledge of Allegiance, the following
recollection from Senator John McCain is
very appropriate:

"The Pledge of Allegiance" - by Senator John McCain
As you may know, I spent five and one half
years as a prisoner of war during the
Vietnam War. In the early years of our
imprisonment, the NVA kept us in solitary
confinement or two or three to a cell. In
1971 the NVA moved us from these
conditions of isolation into large rooms
with as many as 30 to 40 men to a room.

This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful
change and was a direct result of the
efforts of millions of Americans on behalf
of a few hundred POWs 10,000 miles from
home.

One of the men who moved into my room was
a young man named Mike Christian.
Mike came from a small town near Selma ,
Alabama . He didn't wear a pair of shoes
until he was 13 years old. At 17, he
enlisted in the US Navy. He later earned a
commission by going to Officer Training
School . Then he became a Naval Flight
Officer and was shot down and captured in
1967. Mike had a keen and deep
appreciation of the opportunities this
country and our military provide for
people who want to work and want to
succeed.

As part of the change in treatment, the
Vietnamese allowed some prisoners to
receive packages from home. In some of
these packages were handkerchiefs, scarves
and other items of clothing.

Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a
period of a couple of months, he created
an American flag and sewed on the inside
of his shirt.

Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of
soup, we would hang Mike's shirt on the
wall of the cell and say the Pledge of
Allegiance.

I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not
seem the most important part of our day
now, but I can assure you that in that
stark cell it was indeed the most
important and meaningful event.

One day the Vietnamese searched our cell,
as they did periodically, and discovered
Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside,
and removed it.

That evening they returned, opened the
door of the cell, and for the benefit of
all of us, beat Mike Christian severely
for the next couple of hours. Then, they
opened the door of the cell and threw him
in. We cleaned him up as well as we could.

The cell in which we lived had a concrete
slab in the middle on which we slept. Four
naked light bulbs hung in each corner of
the room.

As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as
well as we could. After the excitement
died down, I looked in the corner of the
room, and sitting there beneath that dim
light bulb with a piece of red cloth,
another shirt and his bamboo needle, was
my friend, Mike Christian. He was sitting
there with his eyes almost shut from the
beating he had received, making another
American flag. He was not making the flag
because it made Mike Christian feel
better. He was making that flag because he
knew how important it was to us to be able
to Pledge our allegiance to our flag and
country.

So the next time you say the Pledge of
Allegiance, you must never forget the
sacrifice and courage that thousands of
Americans have made to build our nation
and promote freedom around the world.

You must remember our duty, our honor, and
our country.

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the
United States of America and to the
republic for which it stands, one nation
under God, indivisible, with liberty and
justice for all."

"God" must stay a part of all United States Citizens lives.
I was so proud as a kid saying the Pledge of Allegiance and even more proud when "under God" was added.

PASS THIS ON... and on... and on!

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other died for your freedom.

Sex Bomb in Colombia

HOT! HOT! HOT! LATIN GIRLS!

Muy caliente mujeres en espanol.  Colombian women and girls are very beautiful and they always have a top place in the Miss Universe pageant.  As an avid viewer, except when I'm traveling, I have never missed watching the show since 1969.  A former Miss International 1960 titleholder and Miss Universe 1959, she's in the top 15 semi-finalists, Stella Marquez from Cali, married into a scion of the Araneta Family.  I wonder if they are still married?  I have to bing it and check what's new.

Every human being has a feet of clay.  One bad apple destroys the whole bushel.  The Secret Service scandal is a very bad and dangerous thing.  The whole people involved, 11 Secret Service men, 5 military personnel and 4 more?, in the sexcapades should be all fired!  They were supposed to be the creme de la creme, the best of the best, and they were hired to protect the President of the United States.  They were not employed to go gallivanting wherever and satisfying themselves with sex and prostitutes.  Their one and only responsibility is to secure things for the President and elected officials - that they be safe from assassinations.  What they did was not admirable.  Consorting with prostitutes and women of the night is very risky and can compromise confidential informations and other things, unintentionally.  An amazing disgrace!  In my opinion, their very top boss should be fired also.
The White House should recommend to Janet Napolitano of Homeland Security (wasn't the Secret Service under the Treasury Department? - I don't follow up much) that for play and pleasure for all Secret Service men to just go bowling, basketball or golf.

Dog Eat Dog

ASIANS particularly Filipinos (pulutan) and Koreans (visitors during the Olympics held there were told to be aware what meat they were eating because it could be dog meat) - eat dog meat - cooked grilled, barbecued or roasted with beer.  I remember one of my uncles mentioned that during the war he stopped  in a restaurant in a province in the Philippines and saw dead skinned cats hanging inside the kitchen.  Yikes! Was he sure? It could be dogs! Anything is good to eat in times of war.  There was also a story of cannibalism by the  Donner Family and company on their long hard winter travel to California.  England's former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher even called the Filipino dogeaters "barbarians."
Obama ate dog meat when he was a kid, see kid photo, in Indonesia he said in his book.  I did not read his book memoir but heard such account in the media as a tit for tat criticism of Mitt Romney's treatment of his dog while vacationing to Canada.  I forgot his first nickname then (was it Barry?) but remember the last name of Sotero or Soetoro.   I guess he did not have any of the slightest idea, being an innocent child, that Muslims don't eat pigs. So they can only eat dogs.
Fortunately, Shamus, beloved dog of Mitt & Ann Romney who's long ago living, barking and riding happily in dog heaven, who died of natural causes I hope, did not meet Obama or else he would have been eaten.

This page is in loving memory of my family's dog - forever loyal, forever in our hearts.  He died of missing me (broken heart) because I left him for the USA.

 Here is how the country is changing.  It is fun to follow the directions and see what is happening.

Remember about a year ago you filled out a census form?

Well ---- - - - - -> here are the result of this process.  What you will see is a Map of the US - not just the 48 states but all of the 50 states.  Territories are not in the census - but they did provide information during this process.

So let us say you are in Virginia, you can go by county and as you zoom in by city to see the increase or decrease and then you can see the changes of the various races within these cities.

Look at places you know and also look at the map at the darker brown location.  You can zoom in and out to get the information on the places you know.

Use your cursor can move map around and you can zoom in on specific counties to get current stats. It is very interesting!

Fascinating!!!   Just glide your cursor over the map and it displays every county.   Can't imagine how long it took to create this map!!

Amazzzzzing!!!

The Jeopardy Question Nobody could answer/Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

I got this e-mail from another friend some years back.  My favorite game show of all time is JEOPARDY! The show's  popular and award-winning host is the handsome and debonair Alex Trebek.  I watch it all the time except when I'm traveling somewhere.  It was in the late 70s when I saw the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  It was so awesome!

Lib

-->

On Jeopardy the other night, the final question was "How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns"---- All three contestants missed it!

--

This is really an awesome sight to watch if you've never had the chance
. Very fascinating.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

1. How many steps does the guard take during his walk across the tomb of the Unknowns andwhy?

21 steps
: It alludes to the twenty-one gun salute which is the highest honor given any military or foreign dignitary.

2. How long does he hesitate after his about face to begin his
return walk and why?

21 seconds for the same reason as answer number 1

3. Why are his gloves wet?

His gloves are moistened to prevent his losing his grip on the rifle.

4. Does he carry his rifle on the same shoulder all the time and
, if not, why not?

He carries the rifle on the shoulder away from the tomb. After his march across the

path,he executes an about face and moves the rifle to the outside shoulder.

5. How often are the guards changed?

Guards are changed every thirty minutes,
twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.

6. What are the physical traits of the guard limited to?

For a person to apply for guard duty at the tomb, he must be
between 5' 10' and 6' 2' tall and his waist size cannot exceed 30.

They must commit 2 years of life to guard the tomb, live in a barracks under the tomb, and cannot
drink any alcohol on or off duty for the rest of their lives. They cannot swear in public for the
rest of their lives and cannot disgrace the uniform or the tomb in any way.

After two years, the guard is given a wreath pin that is worn on their lapel signifying they served
as guard of the tomb... There are only 400 presently worn. The guard must obey these rules for the rest of their
lives or give up the wreath pin.

The shoes are specially made with very thick soles to keep the heat and cold from their feet. There are metal heel plates that extend to
the
top of the shoe in order to make the loud click as they come to a halt.

There are no wrinkles, folds or lint on the uniform.. Guards dress for duty in front of a full-length mirror.

The first six months of duty a guard cannot talk to anyone nor watch TV. All off duty time is spent studying the
175 notable people laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery . A guard must memorize who they are and
where they are interred. Among the notables are:

President Taft, Joe Lewis {the boxer}

Medal of Honor winner Audie L. Murphy, the most decorated soldier of WWII and of Hollywood fame. Every guard spends five hours a day getting his uniforms ready for guard duty.

ETERNAL REST GRANT  THEM O LORD AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

In 2003 as Hurricane Isabelle was approaching Washington, DC, our US Senate/House took 2 days off with anticipation of the storm.. On

the ABC evening news, it was reported that because of the dangers from the hurricane, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb

of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment.   They respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!" Soaked to the

skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest honor

that can be afforded to a serviceperson. The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930.

God Bless and keep them.

I don't usually suggest that many emails be forwarded, but I'd be very proud if this one reached

as many as possible. We can be very proud of our young menand womenin the service no matter where

they serve.

Life is short.. Forgive quickly, love truly,laugh uncontrollably.....  And never regret anything that made you smile...
