Francis Cardinal George

THE CATHOLIC FAITHFUL OF ARCHDIOCESE OF CHICAGO LEARNED OF THE PASSING OF EMERITUS CARDINAL GEORGE, BROTHER IN CHRIST,  ON APRIL 17, 2015 AT 10:45 A.M.   He died of bladder cancer at the age of 78. 

I'll always have a fond memory of my chasing Cardinal George for photos when he came to bless the obstetric hospital in 1998 - 1999 ? where I used to work -

    Sun Wah Restaurant is closed on Thursday. Very unusual as most Chinese restaurants are closed on Monday. May be this is a Vietnamese restaurant since it's located in Vietnam town? We ate at Furama which was equally delicious place. Thanks Dos Amigas for the sumptuous treat!

    I WAS READING THE SUNDAY EDITION OF CHICAGO SUN TIMES ABOUT CARDINAL GEORGE (HE WAS ONE OF US) : "HE WAS BORN FRANCIS EUGENE GEORGE ON JAN. 16, 1937, IN ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL IN EVANSTON." ALL ALONG I THOUGHT HE WAS BORN IN ST. ELIZABETH HOSPITAL, NEAR NORTH SIDE OF CHICAGO.

    TUESDAY (APRIL 21) AND WEDNESDAY (APRIL 22) VISITATIONS FOR CARDINAL GEORGE AT HOLY NAME CATHEDRAL, CHICAGO. BURIAL THURSDAY (APRIL 23) AT HIS FAMILY PLOT IN ALL SAINTS CEMETERY, DES PLAINES.
