MARCOS LEGACY

THIS NO ONE CAN DENY:  FERDINAND EDRALIN MARCOS IS THE BELOVED AND PROUD SON OF ILOCOS REGIONS.   There are many Marcos haters because of his 20-year-rule as controversial president (who isn't?) but all the folks in Ilocandia admire and love him to this day.  Not one that you ask in Ilocos has a bad word against him as he did so many good things to the Filipino people also.  Moreover, he was the most decorated soldier of World War II, a testament in his being a military hero.  It's most unfortunate that he was denied for whatever reasons being buried as requested by his family at the Libingan ng Bayani (Cemetery of Heroes).  It's only just and right that it will be his final burial place, in my opinion.

@ Kangaroo Tim Down Under

This is the very wide gap between Islamic justice and Christian justice.  In Islamic justice, it's an eye for an eye; while in Christian justice, live it to Divine forgiveness among other things.  The Philippines is a Christian nation and I'm all praise to high heavens and so thankful for the high intelligence and democratic way the Filipino people (and Cardinal Sin) spared the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos and family from grizzly end and most humiliating death.  I was so glad when the Reagan Administration helped the Marcos Family to go on exile in Hawaii.  Although Colonel Muammar Qaddafi/Khadafi/Kaddafi terrorized and killed so many of his own people and the one who authorized the bombing of PanAm flight over Scotland, I was kind of touched when he was begging for mercy.  I must be going out of my mind or that old age senility is creeping up on me!  What fate would you like? Delaying the inevitable of death, i.e., when the Americans soldiers under Commander-in-Chief George W. caught Saddam Hussein hiding in a small hole on the ground, he was not executed but brought to court and finally hanged.  This is kind of Christian justice.  Heretofore now, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton while visiting Libya a day before told Libyan interim revolutionary officials that the Colonel should be killed and well then, what do you know, the next day he was shot and executed with a bullet in the head by his own mad people.  The "Mad dog of the Middle East" died just like that!  No wonder Muslim leader Farakkan (a very good friend of Qaddafi) shouted on the top of his voice , "There's a murderer in the White House...!!!" (meaning Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama).  How ironic he's the one killing all his "Muslim brothers."  Another thing, like I said before, Madame Hillary is one tough cookie and will always answers that 3:00 am call (no call yet - it went to Obama).  If that were George W., there's no end to criticisms and calls of war crimes by Amnesty International, potpourri activists and the bias mainstream media.  Life is full of irony.  It's good Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Obama got his award in advance and could show it to the International Court of Justice when asked.  But good enough, the United States of A. is not part of the ICJ and just ignore the whole body.

I've prayed for the mad dog Colonel.  I'm a Christian fool after all.
