Democracy never retreats! It's either rising and falling.  A friend just forwarded a very interesting e-mail which I'm going to forward to you and politically-minded family and friends.  Although fact checkers (called it a hoax and be catalogued under urban legends) said the purported author denied writing it and the data are mostly false, I find the content very informative.
