World Traveler: Victoria Falls

WORLD TRAVELER JOSIE VISITED SOUTH AFRICA IN APRIL 2013:
Her e-mail photos with notes...

Cape of Good Hope - The most south-western point of the African Continent

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe - One of the seven natural wonders of the world
The poncho did not do me any good.  I was drenched to the bone.  Magnificent Victoria Falls.

On top of the Table Mountain looking into the Lion's Head.  On this clear day, I had a magnificent view of Cape Town, the convergence of the Atlantic Oceans and Indian Ocean, Robben Island where Nelson Mandella was imprisoned for 28 years.  He later became the President of South Africa and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize.  Later in the afternoon, I witnessed what Capetowners call the Table Cloth, clouds that covers the city and finally the mountain itself.

Nelson Mandella

How beautiful the feathers of this bird, looks like it is wearing gold jewelry, my kind of bird.

At the Kirstenbosch Garden, Capetown - The King Protea is the National Flower of South Africa.
