Charo Cuchi Cuchi Girl

THE CLASSIC GUITARIST OF ALL TIME!  No one, male or female, not even Andres Segovia, her former teacher, could beat her.  Born in 1951, Charo's real name is Maria del Rosario Mercedes Pilar Martinez Molina Baeza in Murcia, Spain.  She became the teenage protegee of famous bandleader and impresario Xavier Cugat , going on tour of Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Philippines, entertaining soldiers in military bases.  She later married Cugat in 1966.  They divorced in 1977 and at the same time was granted American citizenship.  In 1978, she married her second husband Kjell Rasten, a producer.

Long before Tina and Beyonce, she's best known for her sexy moves on stages and amazing play of the guitar, surpassing all of known guitarist of our time.  For a Catholic convent muchacha, her life turned out to be muy fabuloso!  She has been name "Best Flamenco Guitarist" twice in a poll by Guitar Player Magazine.  My most favorite songs are Malagueña salerosa and La Paloma...cu cu ru cu cu, ayayayay...
