On The Road Philippines

AMAZING RACE IN THE PHILIPPINES    This popular CBS award-winning show was in Manila last Friday, December 5th.  I almost missed watching it because Dish Network  had a disagreement with CBS on programming.  The screen was all black.  I had to go to my analog TV, you know that thing with the converter and rabbit's ears antenna.  I was so upset and pissed off.

Amazing Race had featured the Philippines before.  I'm not sure, I think it's the second time. But this is the real deal, truly down and dirty, showing the true side of the overpopulated and impoverished island nation.

Something or all things stink in Metro-Manila.  Manila is an environmentalist nightmare.  The poor folks throw garbage left and right and all over, the sewage systems are poor and because of super-typhoons every month, everything is flying all over and cleaning is hard to do.

Fish and rice are the main staple foods of Filipinos.  These Amazing Race contestants are so brave to go fishing in the big waves of Manila Bay.

Life is hard in being a rice farmer in the provinces near Manila.  Imagine doing this every day, rain or shine.  How long for these contestants to do it and go digging in the rice field for their clue with the help of  water buffalo or kalabaw (Amazing Race called the animal "ox"), maybe an hour or so?

Who will be the 2 million dollar winners?  Two more shows to go...

The Pro-Wrestlers Brooke and Robbie were surprised the Sweet Scientists Maya and Amy were still in the race.   They would be the first prize winner of $1 million of the 25th Season of Amazing Race.  I said to myself, self, they were blessed because they were the only ones who said the Philippines "is beautiful."
