NO WELCOME HOME FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
When the American troops came home at the "end" of Vietnam War, they were spat at, cursed at and shouted at with hurtful words. Most were traumatized, mentally, spiritually and physically. They became very bitter and dispirited. They have been through hell defending a country they loved, just following orders.
It would not be until 10 years later, 1985? during the Reagan Administration, that they would be given a big welcome heroes' parade in New York - an honor they truly deserved.

I don't know if this is true but I heard there will be a rally by 5,000 Vietnam War veterans against Kerry in Washington, DC. He awakened long-buried feelings and resentment for his testimony in Congress.
ReplyDeleteI SAID TO MYSELF, SELF, IT'S A FICKLE TWIST OF FATE. LT. JOHN KERRY, ONE OF THE VIETNAM VETERANS AGAINST WAR, IS NOW THE CURRENT SECRETARY OF STATE. RUSH LIMBAUGH SAYS ALL THE TIME IN HIS POPULAR RADIO TALKSHOW, "HE ALSO SERVED IN CAMBODIA." I DESPISE ALL WAR PROTESTORS AND JANE FONDA. THEY MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR AMERICA TO LOSE THE VIETNAM WAR.
