WHY DO YOU SEEK THE LIVING AMONG THE DEAD?
HE IS NOT HERE.
- Luke 24:5-6
Christians believe Christ has risen from the dead after three days in the tomb. Why believe? Why is there no doubt? Because there are witnesses: the three women who came at dawn to anoint Jesus and was sad because the body was not there, the apostles and the followers of Jesus. Christ did rise from the dead. If He did not rise from the dead - then we are not forgiven from our original sin and saved from the light coming from the cross of salvation. If Christ had not risen from the dead, there is no resurrection and no everlasting life. There would be no hope. There would be no Eucharist. His Last Supper with the 12 Apostles as we know it would only be a memorial, just like a Thursday-night party of the people of God gathered together for a special ceremony. In the Risen Lord, it is He who leads every celebration of the Eucharist - the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. It is the real thing. It is live! Every Sunday is 'Little Easter.'
