Winter time in Venice

GREAT FLOOD IN VENICE    NOVEMBER 6, 2014    A real estate underwater - maybe the Moses Project should be changed to Marco Polo Project.

Living in the low area of Manila when I was growing up, we always get flooded.  We had the same wooden platforms to go across flooded streets.

There was a big flooding in Venice in the late 60's and in late 90's, a few months after I was in Venice in 1998.  I wonder when was the photos below were taken? I did not see any wooden platforms for Venetians and tourists to walk down unless they were under water because of the height of the flood water.  The flooding must be a yearly occurrence during winter because I was there in September and there was no flooding.  I know Venetian officials and environmentalists have a lot of projects to control the flooding.  I'm not really worried because hopefully they have solved the problem within 50 years.  Parang Pilipinas.
