  1. This is an amazing letter.  Weird, but amazing.  Maybe even shocking!  Some may even call it Filipino ingenuity?   The Letter of Maria....   Maria (let's call her by that name) is a registered nurse in the United States.  Her mom got terribly sick, went to the hospital and eventually died.  The plane fare to the Philippines is expensive so she decided to just send her mom's coffin back home for burial without her.  When the coffin arrived in the Philippines, her family noticed something unsual about the coffin and opened it.  One of the children even commented, "Ay, naku! Look at that...they don't know how to do makeup and arrange the corpse in America!"   So they decided to do it the proper way but aba!  They found a letter on the breast of their mother.  They took it and read it.   The content of the letter is being translated into English....

  2. Okey....The English translation of Maria's letter:   My dear Father and Relatives:   My apology to you all for not accompanying nanay (mother) in her final return to the Philippines due to the expensive plane fare.  So far I have spent more than $1,000.  I don't want to think of the exact price.  Anyway, here are the following stuff included with nanay....   At the back of nanay's body are 20 cans of corned beef.  The Adidas that nanay is wearing is for tatay (father).  The 5 pairs of rubber shoes are inside the Jansport backpack and used as a pillow for nanay's head.  They are for each one of you.   The different brand of chocolate and candy are under nanay's butt.  These sweets are for the children.  It's up to you to share them with everyone.  I'm hoping they did not melt.  The Pokemon stuffed toy hugged by nanay is for the youngest kid of our older sister.  It's my birthday gift.   The black Esprit bag is for Nene.  Ate (older sister), all the photos of nanay, Japanese version of Pokemon, trading cards, and stickers are inside the bag.   Nanay is wearing 3 Ralph Lauren, 4 Gap and 2 Old Navy t-shirts.  One shirt is for our older brother, and one for each nephew.  All of these you can wear at the fiesta (local party).   Nanay is also wearing 6 pantyhose and warmer for my single nieces.  Wear them at the party.  There are 12 dozen NBA caps at the foot of nanay.  These are for you tatay, kuya, dikong, Uncle Romy.  Also give one of each to our nephews and one for Pareng Tulume.   The 2 dozen pairs of Nike waistband and knee caps that nanay is wearing are for your children who play basketball, diko.   Each of the 2 reams of Marlboro green and Winston lights are in-between the thighs of nanay.   There are 4 jars of Skippy Peanut Butter, 2 diswashing liquid, one Kiwi glass cleaner and 6 Colgate and Aqua Fresh under the kili-kili of nanay.  Share with one another, don't fight.  There are a dozen of Wonder bra that is a favorite of Tiya (Aunt) Iska that nanay is wearing.  I know that is her great wish, Tiya.  The earrings, ring, and necklace with 6 nail cutters hanging on it) are liked by you so much, ditse.  Take it right away, ditse.   Nanay is also wearing the Chanel and Champion socks.  Take one, my dear nephew. </font
