Ravinia Festival Concert JOURNEY

THE RAVINIA FESTIVAL HAS SO MANY FLAVORS AND INGREDIENTS: MUSICIANS, MASTERPIECE AND FANS.  Ji, one of the co-hosts of Windy City Live (ABC7 Chicago), quipped "they (Ravinia lawngoers) bring their whole living room..."  Hahahahaha!!!! There are so many favorite performers this summer of 2013 but I can only pick two --

Some proud fans of Arnel Pineda, frontman for the American band Journey who's a Filipino, put up both  US and Philippine flags on the lawn - first time I've ever seen one at Ravinia.

Journey's Arnel Pineda Singing in his Blue Chicago T-shirt.  He was soaking wet, singing in that amazing voice, going back and forth across the stage, jumping and tumbling the microphone on his hand.  What a great show! 

Neal Schon, one of the original members of the rock group discovered Arnel Pineda on You Tube.  Arnel, who now chopped his long hair and decorated himself with tattoos on both arms returned the favor by mentioning his name a number of times during the show.  For more on Arnel http://libslabyrinth.blogspot.com/2005/05/heart-of-story.html
