FROZEN IN TIME

ROBERT LOPEZ - THE FILIPINO AMERICAN COMPOSER OF THE SONG "LET IT GO" IN THE DISNEY MOVIE FROZEN WAS NAMED ONE OF "TIME'S MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE OF 2014."

He and his wife Kristine Anderson-Lopez received an Oscar for composing the song "Let it Go," a catchy and familiar song and yet new.

He received Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures. He's the only Filipino American to win an EGOT Award - for Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards. According to Matt Stone, "They really hit it with "Let it Go." It's a perfect example of everything we tried to do on Team America and South Park and with Bobby on Book of Mormon.

Yeah, labtech babies! We go for it and we all had a good time at Via Veneto Ristorante - a WTTW Channel 11 Chicago big sponsor. It's so nice of Dina the owner to give us $10 free gift certificate. Thank you!
We missed regular party attendees Bel (& Rex) as somehow she was not informed of the re-scheduled date. I did send an e-mail also to all but like almost all, just too busy to open their e-mail. By the time she was reminded it was too late as she could not find a lab tech substitute at her job.
Secretary Yousuf (Zaeb) had prior family commitment. It's his first time to be absent from ALT party events. No one can escape -- there's always a first time.
For the first time in our lab affair, VP Vicky opened with a dinner blessing. At the end of a sumptuous dinner, we had a free raffle with prizes of Gucci purse, re-usable bags from Pier 1 Imports, photo albums and designer sunglasses. Free T-shirts were given to officers and members. I ordered sizes L & XL. They did not like the XL size and were looking for M. Oops, sorry. I forgot no one is fatso in the group. Giggles.

We are sorry to miss SkyGoddess Te, Edwin, and Margie also. She was scheduled to fly to Beijing because of the short month of February. She already paid so I'm substituting for her the Spirit of Chicago cruise.
