Fabulous, just fabuloso. This ALT Spring Dinner Meeting was by far the best! It was a most delightful day in the sometimes cold and sometimes warm Spring of Chicago. I could not ask for anything more. The Simpson's curled lettuce seeds given by the Lakota Indians are growing roots in my teeny-weeny vegetable garden. I have not been disappointed so I added planting carrots. I don't eat veggies but it's fun to see things grow and grow. Folks, I have become an Illinois planter.
Rancho Luna Restaurant (Cuban Cuisine) was recommended by Veep Vicky. She's getting to know what I like - food at lunch and dinner meetings. No food, no good. I don't attend meetings that don't serve food.
The menu was just great and up to our taste buds. Yummy! We'd been served fast, thanks to our Cuban waitress Karina.

We had two special guests, Gloria T. and husband Ronald, from Batangas, Philippines. They were former residents of Chicago and on a one-month visit of the city. They met in Tehran, Iran, while working there as lab technologists during the Shah's regime on the Peacock Throne in the mid-70's. At that time the Philippine Government had medical job reciprocity with Iran. She worked and lasted for only six months because the lab facility was quite inadequate. Prior to that she had her medical technology training in the United States using modern machines and other instruments. Lab workers there in the Middle East only work half a day. She also worked in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Ronald who was her boyfriend at the time stayed in Tehran for more than three years. I told them, "You guys are so adventurous!" ALT member Taekwando Joji said she almost went to Iran too but her mom intervened.
By 8:30 pm we're all done eating and stayed to watch the Rancho Luna CopaCubana Saturday Night Show. It's hot! hot! hot! The sexy singers lipsynched to the music and just turned the beat around and one of them gave Taekwando Phil an 8 x 10 glossy; the funny 3-minute skit just shocked me a little bit in the end - the girl opened her dress and showed the group her three breasts!!! (Giggle). The two pretty showgirls with their yellow and green feather ornaments danced and gyrated to the Latin beat.
Viva Cuba!
