SJA Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving

WE GATHER TOGETHER     NOVEMBER 25, 2015     7:30 PM
ST. JOAN OF ARC PARISH   EVANSTON/SKOKIE
NILES TOWNSHIP CLERGY FORUM

What has become the most inclusive way for believers of different  traditions to celebrate an interreligious observance is what has come to be called the Assisi Model.  Named for Assisi, Italy, where the leaders of the world's religious gathered in 1986 to pray for peace in the world, this model has gained widespread support.  In the Assisi Model, we do not see ourselves as praying together, but rather we are together - praying.  We gather in respect of our common humanity.
