Arkansas International Airport

THE ARKANSAS AIRPORT IN LITTLE ROCK HAS A NAME-CALLING PROBLEM.  It just had a major face-lift - from becoming a national to an international airport worthy of its former son.  The airport will be named after the 42nd President of the United States Bill Clinton and the former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Usually an airport is just named after a former president - Houston International Airport was changed to George H. W. Bush International Airport and the  Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C.  This time and for the first time as an 'international airport', the president's wife is also honored and  included in the title.  After too much brouhaha by the populous, a solution to the naming dilemma on who's first!

HAPPY EARTH DAY. 

Beyond today is tomorrow.  Our planet earth will keep on turning for billions and billions of years and the ultraviolet rays of the sun will keep us cold or warm depending where we are standing at the moment.
The "green thing" is good.  I'm one of those who's conservative and environmentally conscious enough to recycle and uphold the philosophy of "waste not, want not."  Moreover, one of [Conservative] Republican principles is personal responsibility.  Unlike people out there who promote awareness and conservation, I observe they don't really practice what they preach.  Being "green' has become a cottage industry and a fricking good thing.
That being said by self, to quote Gilda Radner, "If it's not one thing it's another." The good being done on the environment by proponents of  the richest nation on earth, America, is being balanced by the poor people on earth.

THE SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 DESTRUCTION OF THE WORLD TRADE CENTER IS AN UNFORGETTABLE AMERICAN TRAGEDY.  The 3,000 lives lost  dealt a massive blow of extreme pain to their families and friends and the whole nation.  When I saw on TV what was going on that beautiful Tuesday morning in New York I was very much devastated and sad.  It was so unexpected.  Later in the day or was it a few days later (?) I saw on TV some people in Palestine and the Middle East happy to see the destruction of the buildings.  I've read that the government (leader) of a country and/or the evil done by few of its citizens should not be blamed to all its people.  For example, what Hitler had done should all of the German people be blamed and ostracized forever?  Or, should all of Muslim world and those of Islamic faith be called terrorists because of the radical Muslim leader Osama bin Laden and Al Queda?  Indeed, it's very hard to forget.

Kut-Kut - the lost art of the Philippines

According to the great Filipino artist Fred DeAsis, owning a very expensive art piece of Kut-kut art will someday soon be a reality for yours truly (a size 2 feet by 3 costs $3,600). http://groups.msn.com/LabTechs/kutkut.msnw  I almost did get one if my dear fellow Thomasian and Bionic VP Mila S. knew then what she knew now.  Mr. DeAsis donated some pieces to a Filipino organization fundraising.  She said she could have bought it for me and gave it as a gift.  Very generous and giving talaga si Mila S.

Anyway, I "commission" Mr. DeAsis to paint a special Kut-Kut for me.  I, me, myself, being a die-hard and proud Republican, specifically and specially asked an elephant painting, the Republican Party symbol, and the title to be "THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM.

Nevada (Spanish for snow-clad) gained its statehood in 1864.  Carson City is the capital since 1861.   Large gambling casinos, especially Las Vegas and Reno, and gay night life attract visitors, conventions, boxing matches, big party bashes, and happenings of all kinds from all over the world.  Forms of gambling for highrollers are slot machines, blackjack, poker, roulette, and dice.  Many restaurants and casinos never close, and breakfast is served all day.  Popular performers of TV, stage, screen appear in floor shows at hotel and casinos.  I've seen the shows of  Johnny Carson, Bette Midler, Barry Manilow, Tom Jones, Andy Williams, Siegried and Roy, Folies Bergere and some. Just fabulous! One of the interesting places to see is the Hoover Dam, the highest in the United States (726 feet above the bed of the Colorado River).  It was completed in 1936 when America was in deep depression.  In 1900's, Nevada had adopted laws that made it easy for a resident (three months) to get a quickie divorce.  Today, drive thru places are in for quickie wedding.  Viva Las Vegas!

It's a short walk from Imperial Hotel to the Venetian.  We had Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee for breakfast.  We looked around the Grand Canal Shoppe for a while and then got our tickets for the Gondola Ride ($12.50).  Olivo, our gondolier sang O Sole Mio and Santa Lucia.

I love the geometic floor.  It's like an illusion.  Mila and I joined the Players Club and we got free spending money of $5.  The slot machine ate it in seconds.  Best tip is start right away with $20 at the slot to get rolling and begin winning.

While walking around we were invited to look at Timeshare promotion to be held in one of the buildings at the Strip and in exchange we got to choose stage shows.  In  one of the film promo ads was "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.  The slogan caught on and was in everyone's mouth later on.  As far as I know, the original saying was that Timeshare promo ad.

Hello from Lib's Labyrinth

Just in case you're wondering why you can't connect with powerpoints/attachments: The web pages were from defunct Multiply website and all attachments were disconnected on March 21, 2013.  Unfortunately, Blogger/Blogspot does not support powerpoint slides, so all attachments were lost.  Multiply was the most perfect  website in my opinion, with no limits on photos, wmv, powerpoints, YouTube connection.  Multiply decided to be in the marketplace of Indonesia and the Philippines instead of international.  I'm just grateful I was able to import the texts/journals from Multiply  to Blogspot.
