George H.W. Bush Christmas Card 2013

CHRISTMAS 1944 WAS A SPECIAL TIME FOR PRESIDENT AND MRS. BUSH.

As a young airman in the Navy, he was scheduled to arrive home on leave from the Pacific early in December with his wedding to Barbara Pierce scheduled on December 17 until his trip home was delayed.  They decided to reschedule the wedding for early in the new year and as, Christmas Day approached, the family waited anxiously for his return,  He finally made it home on Christmas Eve - just in time to celebrate the holidays and marry the love of his life.

The picture in this Chistmas card (just sent to self, Friend of 41) is from President and Mrs. Bush's wedding day on January 6, 1945 - one of the first memories they created together.  He and his lovely bride Barbara celebrated their first Christmas together one year later, while the handsome young Bush was beginnng his studies atYale.

The handsome Governor Jeb Bush of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation has formally invited and authorized me to be included on the special George H. W. Bush Leadership Honor Roll.  It's to be permanently located at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.
My favorite photo of President Bush...
The Leadership Honor Roll was created in honor of the 20th anniversary of the presidency of George H. W. Bush as a lasting tribute to the President's extraordinary lifelong leadership.  [If you remember it was under his administration that the Berlin Wall fell into dust among other things and consequences.]
It's a special recognition for those who are helping President Bush and the library to provide current and future leaders from across America and around the world with lessons in patriotism and public service.
Really and truly, I appreciate very much in being thought of, invited and nominated by Governor Jeb with other Americans.
It's an honor and  I do simply accept!
