ReplyDeleteThe annual award of the Illinois Society for Microbiology was established in 1948. The purpose of the award, as expressed by the Council of the Society, is to give public recognition to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the Science of Microbiology. Eligibility for the award is not limited to members of the Society, or even to residents of Illinois. Microbiologists as far away as California have been honored with this award. Any member of the Society may recommend a candidate. A committee appointed by the President makes the final decision. The award is presented at the annual Fall Meeting, at which time the recipient will give a talk focusing on his/her particular area of interest.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
