APRIL 12, 2014 PACQUAIO VS BRADLEY 2
MGM GRAND HOTEL LAS VEGAS
PACQUIAO WINNING over Bradley was a testament that he had not lost his "killer instinct." He said, "I haven't changed my style, the way I fight in the ring."
Some in his camp was critical of the presence of seven Christian pastors in which he pays them a combined $10,000 monthly (for what?). Pacquiao said, "All of us need a relationship with God, that's the most important thing. I'm not introducing a religion; I'm just reading the Bible, day and night. It's our manual to life. When you have trials on life, you lean on God. Religion has not hurt my career. It's helped me. I stopped gambling, stopped drinking, stopped with the girls."

Born to Box...
Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquio was born on December 17, 1978 to Aleng (Mrs.) Dionesia in Bukidnon, Philippines. He's the 4th among six siblings. At age 14, he left home and moved to Manila and lived, for a time on the streets. He started boxing with the Philippines national amateur boxing team and turned professional at age 16 in 1995.
In This Corner...
He had 61 record fights, 54 wins (38 by KOs), 5 losses and 2 draws. With a reach of 67 inches and stance of southpaw with a speed of a torpedo, he won 10 world titles: Flyweight, Super Bantamweight, Super Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight, and Middle Lightweight.
He's become famous the world over from the streets of Manila, the Copacabana Beach and Down Under. People know him by name. The million dollar boxer's training venue in Los Angeles was a rundown sweatshop called the L&M Gym (Lito and Moy first plotted Manny's boxing career) and stayed at the Vagabond Inn, an $80 a night facility when Manny fought Erik "El Terrible" Morales. The Vagabond Inn was near the Wild Card Gym of trainer Freddie Roach. Since then everything turned 360 degrees -- the luxury of Las Vegas thousand dollar suites, fancy cars, big-time stars and politicians and entourage of rich people and leeches.
This is an undisputed fact: Crime rates in the Philippines drop down to an all-time low whenever there's a Pacquiao boxing fight. Streets are empty of people - everyone is inside in the ringside seat of their home via telecast.
These alumni in their college reunion last June 9, 2012 in Las Vegas, being held on the same night of Pacquiao's fight at MGM, put on hold for a little while their party celebration to watch the blow-by-blow account of the boxing match in Mr. Sitjar's iPhone. There was a little bit of controversy but Pacquiao lost the fight.

His second lost was blamed on switching religion from once a devout Roman Catholic to becoming a Born Again Christian and have affiliated himself to Alabang New Life Christian Center. Born Again Christians throw the statues of the Virgin Mary - the most venerated Mother of Jesus in all of Heaven and Earth. If he wants to win again he'd better pray to Her again. Twice in a row is not a good sign.
As a popular celebrity he was not immuned to attacks and racism - a few years ago he was interviewed in Los Angeles by the press about gay marriage. He made a comment that marriage is between a man and a woman. Now let me ask you this - what's wrong with that? Just because of such comment,, which many opinionated American citizens do say, he was banned by a mall not to even enter and shop there (I'm assuming owned by gay sympathizers) in Los Angeles. People like that give gays a bad name. I shopped there many years ago but just one time and never again! Tit for tat.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said Pacquaio's fight against Brandon Bam Bam Rios in Macau on November 24 is an important fight and it's not an easy fight. Pacquiao plans to practice for the Rios fight for two months at his place in General Santos City.

His stay at the luxurious suite of Wynn Hotel is very lucky for the champ.
The day before, billionaire owner Steve Wynn (not to be partial) said Pacquiao & Morales are even Steven.

ReplyDeleteYes, beautiful singing of "Sometimes When We Touch," one of my favorite songs, by Pacquiao. I wonder how much he paid, seemed to be so many people.
