Oh, well.  We're now in August. Don't cry for me America.  Hey, did you know that in England you can collect unemployment compensation forever if you can't find a job?  I did not know that!  That's extreme socialism.

This will explain how Obama got himself elected.

THE COW AND THE ICE CREAM ONE OF THE BEST THEORIES OF WHY OBAMA WON THE ELECTION

Description: cid:1.4041683551@web180710.mail.sp1.yahoo.com

From a teacher in the Nashville area

"We are worried about 'the cow' when it is all about the 'Ice Cream. 'The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching 3rd grade. The last Presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote. To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.

The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids.

I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support.

I had never seen Olivia's mother.

The day arrived when they were to make their speeches.

Jamie went first.

He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place.
He ended by promising to do his very best.

Everyone applauded and he sat down.

Now is was Olivia's turn to speak.

Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down.

The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream."

She surely would say more. She did not have to.

A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. But no one pursued that question. They took her at her word.

Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it...She didn't know.

The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream...

Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and 51.4 % of the people reacted like nine year olds.

They want ice cream.

The other 48.6% percent know they're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess."

This is the ice cream Obama promised us!

Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone that they have not first taken away from someone else.
Did you vote for the ice cream?

THAT, MY FRIEND, IS HOW OBAMA GOT ELECTED, BY THOSE WHO WANT EVERYTHING FOR FREE!

Historic US President

HOW TO BE A LAME DUCK PRESIDENT WITHOUT REALLY TRYING  Easy! It was a glorious victory for Barack Hussein Obama to be the first black president of the United States of America.  In a peculiar way, regardless of the feelings of those, black and white, who did not vote for him, it's about time that a multi-racial America elected someone different other than white.  It's good for history.  And history will be the judge.  Otherwise, the judging by the American people is right here, right now.  Fortunately for him, no one cares for he's the Chosen One.

Obama 44, having been re-elected last November 2013, is joining the pantheon of past lame duck presidents paralyzed by second term of scandals, either phony or trulse and embarrassing foreign policy decisions.  Just like his past predecessors he has become the target and butt of jokes by late night comedians and sourpuss losers of the other party.  Even his former spiritual advisor of 20 years, Reverend Jeremiah Wright couldn't avoid making a crack saying, "Martin Luther King had a dream, Barack Obama had a drone."

It was a terrible disappointment for the loyal supporters of the great American hero and Republican presidential nominee John McCain.  He's a better leader and more qualified.  But things happen for a reason.  History and destiny converged for U.S. President-elect Barack Hussein Obama, whose promise of change  and great expectation somehow made it possible.
The American people will all be watching how he'll do in the future without the help of the bias mainstream media, pundits, and comedians who gave him a pass in every way and who were so critical and negative of the noble and gracious John McCain and Sarah Palin.
What goes around comes around.  So many challenges and problems will be waiting for  President-elect BObama once he's in the White House.  Talking is easy.
Will Obama and sidekick Biden be able to always say 'non-negotiable?'

Croctober Fest

FILIPINO EXOTIC FOOD  I've seen folks from all over the world eating what I would never eat such as snakes, dogs, locusts, guinea pigs, frogs, horse, camel, beetles, ostrich, and you name it but I got very curious when a friend of mine told me a few days ago that she had an appetite for crocodile "buwaya" lechon (roasted crocodile).  Are crocodiles no longer an endangered species?  Probably not according to Philip Dizon, owner of Davao Crocodile Park in Barangay Maa.  I watch SyFy films a lot and it's usually the giant crocodiles eating people and not the other way around. The people in Palawan, Philippines would be aghast for they love their crocodiles.

Soon there will be crocodile tears

Lolong, the Giant Crocodile caught in the Philippines.  Unfortunately, Lolong passed away more than a year ago.

Ready for imports

Where is this hotel?

Yucky or Yummy?  No thanks!

It's roasted pig for me anytime.

PUERTO PRINCESA, PALAWAN ARRIVAL & TOUR

My friends (Susan, Edith, Carme) and I booked for a 2 day-trip to the big island of Palawan. We boarded Philippine Airlines around 9:00 am and safely landed at Puerto Princesa airport around 10:00 am - an hour flight from Manila. The Microtel Hotel van was waiting for us and after a 10 minute wait for 2 more passengers, the driver right away drove us to the hotel. It was a good choice for us because it's the only hotel near the beach.

Puerto Princesa, the capital of Palawan, was all forest that's why it's called "A City in a Forest."
Microtel Hotel beachside at low tide.

We took the half-day tour as scheduled for 1:00 pm while our rooms were being prepared for check-in. One of the highlights of the day city tour is a memorial park dedicated to the 150 American Prisoners-of-War who were burned to death by the Japanese during WWII.

After a little bit of shopping for south sea pearls and nice souvenirs, we went to see a lot of crocodiles, young small ones and big ones, at Palawan Wildlife Reserve.
