George W & Laura Bush

I was looking for something else the other day when I saw this photo taken 10 years ago.  It was given to me because my friend knew George W was my All-Time Favorite President.  There's nothing that he can do wrong in my 20/40 eyes.
The photo was mailed by his mother, Barbara Bush.  She wrote, "It was a great day for us when George W. brought Laura home.  Laura will be the very best First Lady ever!
What a coincidence! The former First Lady Laura has a book out.  Can't wait to read it.

Happy Birthday, Melba (ALT VP)

                                             HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MELBA!

                                        Some people improve with age...
Then there are people like you,
                                                     who improve
                                              but never seem to age!
Note: Cake too big to mail.

Political PhotoBook: Grassroot Republican

I hope my all-time favorite President George W will have a sense of humor when he gets this book, dedicated to him, for his birthday (July 6) - a potpourri of funny and crazy internet photos, blogs, political comments and so forth.

I know where to mail it now.  My friends have been telling me to send it.  But I'm kind of dilly-dallying.  You know, someone made a photo of George W as a pope.  I never figured why?  Do you know why?  I tell you, a lot of goofy people out there.

The Microbes of the Night

Pop Musical: The Phantom of the Trachea
Lyrics: Gary Finger - Microbiologist From Warren General Hospital, Warren, PA.
Swift and stealthy, microbes start mitosis
Soon they're causing ghastly cyanosis.
See the green begin, as the neutrophils swarm in
To a battle that's phagocytic fight.
The microbes cause the mucus of the night.

Gliding, hiding microbes will infest you.
Make you gasp, efficiently congest you.
Tearing up the Penicillin,
Causing fever and then chillin'.
It's a syndrome that is difficult to fight,
And you cough up the mucus of the night.

Legionella, Strep and Klebsiella
Make the doctor need to incubate ya'.
Without the laboratory, you'll never know the story
Of the microbes that are causing such a fright,
The lab will find the microbes of the night.

The Music of the Night -Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman

I OWN NOTHING. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED. =)

My favourite music video of "The Phantom of the Opera"

Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness wakes and stirs imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses
Helpless to resist the notes i write
For I compose the music of the night
(music)

Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendour
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Hearing is believing
Music is deceiving
Hard as lightning, soft as candle light
Dare you trust the music of the night..
Close your eyes for your eyes will only tell the truth
And the truth isn't what you want to see
In the dark it is easy to pretend..
That the truth is what it ought to be...

Softly, deftly, music shall caress you
Hear it, feel it, secretly possess you
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness which you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night

Close your eyes start a journey through a strange, new world
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before
Close your eyes and let music set you free
Only then can you belong to me

Floating, falling, sweet intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation
Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in
To the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night

You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night

Lab Culture Club

FOCUS: FR. DAMIEN DE VEUSTER

Divine Patron Saint of ALT Culture Club
I wrote a paper about Leprosy, the ancient and biblical disease, and published it in the MSN Groups website.  It disappeared upon migrating.  I could not find the original document.  Anyway, the subject is Fr. Damien.
Fr. Damien, a Belgian priest, served the leper colony on the Hawaiian islands of Molokai in the 1880s.
Shortly after Hawaii became a state in 1959, there was a discussion which two state figures the state should honor with statues for the National Statuary Hall Collection at the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.  Fr, Damien was selected for the honor along with King Kamehameha I.  Campaigning for him were Catholic groups -- Young Men's Institute and Holy Name Society.  Nearly 30,000 signatures were submitted to the legislature in 1961, despite of opposition because he was foreign born and a priest.  More than 66 artists bid to design the statue, and sculptor Marisol Escobar of New York City was chosen.  The new bronze statue was unveiled on April 15, 1969 and Fr. Damien was depicted by Escobar near the end of his life, with scars from his leprosy, and wearing his favorite traditional wide-rimmed hat.
A second cast of the statue also stands in front of the Capitol building in Honolulu, next to a statue of King Kamehameha. By act of the Hawaiian State Legislature, April 15 is Fr. Damien Day in Hawaii.  His statue is draped with a lei on that day.
Fr. Damien died of leprosy on April 15, 1889.  He was canonized a saint by Pope Benedict XVI on October 11, 2009.

Procol Harum - A whiter shade of pale 1967

We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale
She said, there is no reason
And the truth is plain to see.
But I wandered through my playing cards
And would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might have just as wellve been closed
She said, Im home on shore leave,
Though in truth we were at sea
So I took her by the looking glass
And forced her to agree
Saying, you must be the mermaid
Who took neptune for a ride.
But she smiled at me so sadly
That my anger straightway died

If music be the food of love
Then laughter is its queen
And likewise if behind is in front
Then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
Seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
And attacked the ocean bed

Capitalist Ms. Piggy Fiscal Conservative 2010

Reminder: Always live within your means.  Be fiscally conservative.  Do not live on credit cards.  Stretch your money as far as you can!  Like I did.

Do not trust the ObamaMoney.  My Big Brother Napoleon informed me that Uncle Sam can always print money even if there's no money in the U.S. Treasury.   Trust in God only!
The ObamaMoney has replaced the $3 BubbaBill Money.  Here's what it looks like, a lot of bogus money are being passed around...

Most of our friends have lost their jobs.  And they are receiving unemployment checks.  In this economic recession, they will never get back their job.  Why? Most company managements have a way of kicking you out.  What are those?  Those are:
1.  Just as soon you reach your retirement age, your company will fire you.  Forfeiting everything including your healthcare benefit.
2.  The company will "help" find you employment to somewhere where it's so far away to drive that you have to say no.
3.  You may be the "Employee of the Year" but it's of no consequence.  Your immediate supervisor will find a way and one of this is give you poor employee evaluation.
4.  You're ready to be fired when everything you do is being criticized.
5.  Your company will file for bankruptcy. And pocket millions.
